Overview

A skin disorder known as eczema causes dry, itchy, and irritated skin. It is a form of skin irritation known as dermatits. Atopic dermatitis or atopic eczema is the most typical kind. Children are most likely to experience it, but it can occur to anyone at any age.

Symptoms

Each person’s case of eczema is unique, and your flare-up doesn’t always happen in the same spot. Itchy rash (typically on the insides of the elbows and the backs of the knees) Infection of the skin that is crusty and oozy Skin that is flaky, dry, and red.

Treatment

• Treatment can involve but isn’t restricted to, the following:
• Topical (steroids or creams containing vitamin D analogs)
• Oral steroids are used in extreme situations.
• Otezla (should obtain insurance and satisfy particular standards) if applicable
