Overview
Urinary tract infections (UTI), typically referred to as cystitis, are infections of the bladder or lower urinary tract (bladder, kidneys, prostate, or other urinary organs). Given that their urethras are shorter, women are more prone to UTIs.
Symptoms
- Pain or burning sensation during urination
- Urination on a regular basis- frequency
- Urge to urinate intensely
- Lower abdomen or back pain
- Cloudy or dark urine
- Blood in urine
- Fever, chills, nausea, and exhaustion are all possible symptoms.
